Toya is a daughter of Hangten Peppy (LTE $41,850+ and OE $347,000+) and out of Missy Montoya (OE $18,890+).  She was bred by Dell Hendricks and made her way to Canada when she was young.

Her papers also include champions such as Peppy Badger Chex (World Champion Reining and Working Cow Horse. NRHA LTE $11,300+, AQHA and NRCHA LTE $6,300+, OE $539,000+ in NRHA, NRCHA and NCHA), Doctor Montoya (NCHA LTE $7,400+, NCHA COA and OE $36,700+ in barrel racing and the NCHA), Peppy San Badger (no introduction needed), Doc Bar (no introduction needed) and Bueno Chex (NCHA Money Earner, NCHA COA, AQHA Champion, Arena ROM, OE $31,000+).

Toya is very well broke to ride in all aspects of reining and was used by a previous owner as their go to horse for family and friends. 

Dex was injured as a two year old (fractured coffin bone) so his training under saddle was delayed.  He is now healed and doing amazing under saddle.

​

He had a few months of reining training in 2020 as well as exposure to the flag and cattle.  He is now learning his way around a rope and recently attended a series of Ranch Versatility clinics where he used his reining, was exposed to buffalo, the flag, roping and trail. 

With his previous injury, we have decided against a heavy show career to help ensure he stays sound, but he will be used and proven under saddle in other ways.
